Scott Paul Bowden is HERE!!

Little Scott is here and man is he a sweet heart!!
Here is the story (I will try to keep it brief):

Grandma and Grandpa were gracious enough to watch Marshall so we brought him up to Salt Lake on Wednesday night because I was scheduled to be induced the next day. Luckily we did that because they called and told us to be there by 6 a.m.

So we arrived at the hospital at about 6 a.m. the next day, Thursday October 13th. At about 6:30 I was at a 3 and 80%. I made it pretty dang clear that I wanted my epidural before I got pitocin or before breaking my water. So I did. That all went well! At about 8 I got my epidural and soon after had my water broken. Then they started the pitocin at about 8:30. There was something wrong with the tubing so it didn't start right off.. it took a half hour or more. Around then I was just a 3+. Scott's blood pressure was going down so I was pushed over to one side and had to wear an oxygen mask. At about 10:30 or so I started to feel pressure and feel like I was ready to push. I felt this with Marshall for about 2 hours. It hurt pretty bad but there was nothing they could do because I wasn't to a 10 yet. Anyway.. the nurses left and the contractions/pressure got really bad. I told Brady to call them to ask them to come help me. They weren't going to come in for 10 more minutes. The next contraction (which were about 2 minutes apart) hurt so bad I couldn't help but cry and had to squeeze the bed rail. I told Brady to call the nurses and tell them to get in here RIGHT NOW! I had progressed so fast. I was at a 10, 100%, and ready to go. That is sure what I felt. I thought Scott was going to come out! They pushed me on my back and gave an extra dose which numbed me up to my chest! I had to get through about 15 or 20 minutes more of hard contractions though before the epidural got to my right side again. That was so horrible.

Well, the nurse had me push a couple times just to get Scott to be positioned right and see how fast I was going to go. But, we had to close my legs while we waited for the Doc because Scott was about to pop right out. I probably could've had him at least 30 minutes earlier if the doc was there. So the Doc was doing something down there and never told me to push. Then all of a sudden Scott was out and I was so confused! He just gently pulled him out. He was so ready. He did have the cord wrapped around his neck but the Doc just twisted him a little and got that right off. He was born at 11:31 at 7lbs 6 oz and 20.5 inches. I could've done without feeling the contractions, that is for sure. But, it went really well and pretty dang fast.. especially for an induction. Brady did great! He didn't pass out and was able to cut the cord again!

Nasty!

A little wiped off.
He still looks pretty close to this but a little older! We need to get some pictures with his eyes open.

I love that his toes are like little dots!
Marshall had so much fun a Grandma and Grandpa Marshall's! They took really good care of him! Thanks again for doing that!

They really spoiled him and played with him the whole time.
Grandpa even took him to the park!
Marshall was so funny when he came to the hospital. I think he was just thinking he didn't know where he was and then all of a sudden he sees his mom and dad. He just had this confused look on his face for a while. Even after coming and saying hi to us. It was hilarious!
Scott gave Marshall a train!
Great Grandma and Grandpa Marshall with Scott!
Marshall's first time holding Scott! He did so good! He really likes him! He is pretty gentle with him most if the time. It is really cute!
We are so excited that Scott is finally here! He is so far a pretty good baby and is just a sweet heart! We love him so much!

Brady's Birthday!

Brady's birthday was last Thursday! We celebrated it mostly the Friday before by going to Park City. We sure shopped til we dropped. Then we went to Claim Jumper! It was really fun to just have a day together as a family. We haven't had that in a long time.

On his actual birthday we went out to eat while out angel friend Chelsea watched Marshall! Then we had some friends over for cake and ice cream.

Before we went out to eat Brady opened a couple presents including this monster Marshall made for him. He was so excited to give it to him! Brady was pretty excited about it too! I think he had a good one this year!

Its almost Halloween.. which means time to craft!

These are horrible pictures but are just of a few Halloween crafts I've done lately!

Marshall's latest Activities!

Marshall is at such a fun age! Sometimes very frustrating too but ultimately fun! He says and does the funniest things everyday! It is very entertaining for us!

This day I about had it with him though! Brady was gone in Reno for 5 days and I was trying to do something fun with Marshall so I took him to the ZOO with some friends.

Do you see the horse behind him? Well its not real.. but Marshall still screamed to be put on it.. so I had to take a picture of him on the rock!
He really did have a good time.. even though he doesn't look like it!

The other day Marshall's old friend Brigdon got to come and hang out for a bit. They haven't seen each other in a while so it was funny to see them react to each other! It was really fun to see his mom and baby brother too!

Just exploring..

Marshall loves playing with his friend James. They get a long really well!

Shopping for shoes for Daddy in Park City! He actually did pretty well and we were there forever!

Marshall is so cute with his stuffed animals. He does everything with and for them. He puts them down for a nap like in this picture, kisses their head when they bump it and says "It ok?", feeds them, reads to them, puts them in time out after he makes them touch something they shouldn't, etc. It is pretty funny to watch. I think he is going to be a good Big Brother!

The other night Marshall put these glasses on for Family Prayer! We were laughing so hard! He was so serious about it. We just had to get a picture. The next day he looked for the glasses again but luckily couldn't find them.

Marshall has been asking to go "pottie on the toilet" which is very interesting. I haven't pushed him at all but the other day he asked randomly. He was so excited when a tiny bit trickled into the toilet. It was hilarious! We won't start potty training for a bit longer but will still let him go when he wants.

The other day was a horrible experience though.. I was on the phone with Mindi and first of all he took off all his clothes and peed on floor. Which was better then the last 2 days when he peed on the chair. Anyway I hung up the phone, cleaned it up and called her back. Then Marshall told me he wanted to go "pottie in the toilet" so I stayed on the phone and took him. I had just changed his diaper so I didn't expect it to be dirty at all. WELL.. as I stepped back after putting him on the toilet my foot slid into a huge chunk of poop! It went in between my toes and everything. It was so disgusting. I screamed and then got off the phone. Poor Marshall.. it wasn't his fault. It was just so not fun to clean up!

Marshall is still biting.. It is so hard. I feel so bad for the kids he bites. If anyone has any suggestions how to stop him please let me know.

He sure keeps us busy though. I am excited for him to be a big brother soon! I think he will try to smother the kid with love.. but at least it will be with love and not hate!

NEW Room!

So I finally got around to re-decorating our room! I used a little of our tax refund for it! But most things were purchased with a coupon, at the DI or ksl.com and re-purposed! It has been very fun!

These are the beautiful dressers Brady made when we lived in CA!
Prints like these are usually really expensive. You can find them at Pottery Barn or places like that. I found a whole book of these at the DI for $4! Seriously an amazing find! And of course the frames are from the DI and have been all painted to match!

I purchased my bedding at Pottery Barn. (It was on Clearance). I made my dark blue pillow covers out of curtains I made in my last apartment so $0. I used just white fabric for the curtains to be simple which were cheap and I had a coupon. The curtain rods were on clearance at Hobby Lobby and were white. I spray painted them a cool finish! The ends are green glass balls!

I love this yellow antique sewing machine case. My sewing machine broke, because it was as old as this case! So.. we use it to store computer accessories!
I love this desk. We got it for $15 from someone in Sugar House. It is a really old desk. I love the side shelves and the gold handle. The map was another DI purchase.. $1. It is glued to a board to make it flat. I love how huge it is!

There are a ton more "deals" around this room that I didn't mention. That is probably the funnest part about it! It is also necessary since we really don't have much money haha!
