Katie hit a dog.. A dog hit Katie!

Well, its been about 2 weeks now not having a car and it looks like it isn't even close to being finished.

On May 2nd I went to pick up Jared and Kelsy from the airport a little before midnight. I was about to Thanksgiving Point on the 15 when I saw a big black dog right in the middle of my lane and not even a second later hit it. It smashed the front of our car and bumped a couple times under it. Because of the construction I couldn't really pull over so I just hoped that the dog died.

I was so freaked out.. nothing like this had ever happened to me. The car was driving fine so I figured I would just hurry and get to the airport and then look at the car. Well, about when I hit the 215, the car wouldn't accelerate anymore. It turned to HOT and then died. It all happened really fast. I pulled over. For those of you who don't know the 215 at midnight. It's dark and creepy. Anyway. I was by myself for a while but called Grandma and Grandpa. They woke up to come get me and Jared and Kelsy at the airport. Grandpa and I waited for the tow truck and followed it to the shop.

Anyway, we stayed at Grandma's that night and didn't get to bed til at least 2. The dog was apparently pretty big because not only did it bust the bumper and grill, it broke the radiator and others things. We just found out that there is even more damage that I don't really understand but it is going to be expensive (for the insurance company luckily). If they would've found this other damage to the top of the engine before they fixed other things, they probably would've just called it Totaled.. from a dog! Crazy huh. I feel bad for the dog.. but seriously what was a dog doing on the freeway?! Stupid dog.

In the meantime, it is raining and cold which makes it hard for Brady to get to work because biking is the only other form of transportation we have! But we have dealt with it for 2 weeks and can hopefully deal with it for however much longer we need to. Thanks to all our friends and family who have let us borrow their car or given us a ride! We really appreciate it.

Coming soon... Brady just took a river rafting trip and a camping/hiking trip with his class. He will hopefully get some pictures out soon!

Marshall, etc.

Here is the Elmo shirt Grandma (Connie) Marshall gave to Marshall. What a smile huh?
We went to In N Out when Jared and Kelsy came down. Marshall got stickers and put them all over himself!

Some fun crafty gifts..

Ok I LOVE these little book marks. Are they not the cutest thing you've ever seen?!?! Marshall and I made them for his Grandma's for Mother's Day. They are pretty easy and I think would make reading a little more fun for kids! Oh I just can't get over how cute they are!
Here is the link..

We also made these cool pop up cards that turned into a bouquet of flowers for the Grandma's. I didn't take a picture but I used some fun paper. Here is the link..

Boise, Idaho for Easter!

Marshall was so excited to see his cousins Hayden and Jake when we went to Boise, Idaho for Easter. They had such a good time playing together. Here they are at the park. We stayed at Brady's sister Jamie and her husband Matt's house.
Goofy Marshall.
One night we went to a Bounce house. Marshall liked the things to bounce on but it took him a while to get used to them. Here he is getting ready to fight.
He probably played in this car more then anything haha.
While we were at the Bounce house, Brady and Matt were able to go on a bike ride. I think they had a pretty good time!
Saturday morning we all went to a ward members house for a Easter Egg Hunt. I think Marshall enjoyed the swing set more then the egg hunt.
Saturday night Jamie and Matt took us out to the Cheese Cake Factory. It was delicious, even though I felt sick before, during and after we went haha.
Saturday night we also colored easter eggs. They had so much fun doing that.
Here is one of Marshall's.
Just Brady being Brady! He has a half of a huge plastic egg on his head.
These are the kids waiting patiently to come downstairs to see what the Easter Bunny brought them.
This is what the Easter Bunny brought Marshall..
And Brady.
Before Marshall found his basket he found the biggest egg from all the easter eggs that were hidden around the room.
Easter Day!
Look at this sweet little Betty and her cute Easter dress!
This is the last day we were there. I don't know if they were done with each other or sad to leave?? Notice Hayden's band-aid on his neck.. Marshall bit him finally on the last day. I'm actually surprised it took that long. Hayden thought the band-aid would help it feel better! Whatever works haha. Sorry about that Jamie! He is getting better at not biting.

Anyway, we had a really good time and were sad to leave. Jamie was so good about taking care of me since I was sick (pregnant) and Brady was good to take care of Marshall. I really didn't want to leave. Luckily they are coming to our house tomorrow!! YAY! Hopefully I can be as hospitable to them as they were to us!

Brady's obstacle BBQ

As most of you know by now, Brady is organizing a few events called Foam Fest's. They are a 5k with obstacles and foam. He did a little test run one Saturday with some volunteers. It was pretty fun and exciting to watch everyone run the obstacles.
Marshall was daddy's little helper. He was so cute watching everyone.
Here are a few of the obstacles..

I wasn't able to get a picture of the slip and slid with foam, but you can check out more pictures of the obstacles for the events at http://www.battlefornobility.com/

Ready To Pop Shower

So I organized a shower for my friend Jamie with some help from some friends and family. It was fun to come up with all the fun POP ideas. This is the invitation. I had to cover the part that has our address and phone number.
This was the main table. We had the shower in the club house at our apartments because it was already decorated in red and black! On the table there was popcorn cupcakes, caramel popcorn, butter popcorn, totsie and blow pops, fruit, and oreo pops. We also had popcorn bags so everyone could take some home. That was a brilliant idea because I didn't have much food left over!!
Here are the popcorn cupcakes that McKelle helped me make. They looked a little better in real life.
Here is the second table.
Soda POP.
Here is Jamie, the one who is having a baby soon.. obviously. She is drinking from the fun straws I got.
Here are the girls playing one of the games. We played the game where you guess what candy bar is in the diaper. They were so disgusting and really looked like poop. The other game we played was to match the animal to the number of days of pregnancy. That was a really interesting game! Pretty fun!

Anyway, we had a good time!
