Our sweet little Marshall is growing up!!

So I've realized that Marshall is only going to get older! This is so exciting and so sad at the same time! I just want him to stay his age right now! He is so funny and cute! He does the funniest things everyday and surprises us with new things all the time. He loves to sing. If anyone knew me as a kid this is how I was too, apparently. But he is so adorable! He loves singing Elmo's world, ABC's, Twinkle Twinkle, Diego, anything really.. even hymns.

He has a favorite song on the radio though. It is the song that says "Cause your amazing, just the way you are!" The other day that song was on and Marshall totally got the "are" right on. He kept it up the whole song! It was hilarious! Now every time we hear that song we turn it up and he totally sings and smiles. It's so cute! It kind of reminded me of that Mr. Bean episode when he doesn't know the hymn.. but in a lot cuter way. He even sings the rest of the song like him, just mumbling something. Next time you see him you can ask him to sing you something.

He can also count to 10! He doesn't really know his colors yet but can count to 10 haha! It usually helps if he is going up or down stairs though. That is how he learned.

I'm just going to copy the last 2 entry's in his journal instead of paraphrasing:

"7.10.11 - Well we just got back from CA and although we had a great time, Marshall picked up some bad habits from his cousins. This morning while we were getting ready for church, we went in to check on him and he was totally NAKED standing next to a puddle on the ground. His cousins run around naked all the time so I think that's why he though he could. The good thing was the puddle was just water (another habit he picked up earlier) and he was good enough to throw his diaper in the trash haha!! It was really hard not to just laugh! We didn't even punish him."

I know most of you mom's are thinking.. "woopee he was naked".. but we just don't do that in our house especially with a kid that just peed on me yesterday while I was changing his diaper. Yeah he is going to be 2 in a week and still can't control himself. He won't be potty trained for a while!

"7.12.11 - I was just walking our of my room while Marshall was taking a nap and heard a door slam quietly. I freaked out a little but realized the air conditioning had just come on and that must have shut a door. Then as I walked into the kitchen making sure the front door was locked (it was), I heard it again. I thought this could only mean one thing... and as I turned to look @ Marshall's door a little hand came out. He'd finally done it.. climbed out of his crib. DANG'T! A week and half til he's 2.. I guess it's about time! I just wish it didn't have to scare me like that."

Anyway.. we are just so excited he's around and can't get enough of him! He can be the biggest rascal but he makes us so happy. He reminds me of Dennis the Menace! Even when I tell him not to touch something he twiddles his fingers just like in the movie.

Jared has been in Provo this summer and we have LOVED it! So has Marshall. Last night he came over and Brady said look who it is and Marshall screamed with excitement and ran out to him! He stayed with us for a bit til he found an apartment. This is just a video of what a fun uncle is like!

So Brady's company had a party trying out the blow up slip and slide and the ground slip and slide. They had such a blast. Marshall did too!

At the end of the 8 miles is when they get really muddy. In this obstacle they have to climb under barbed wire in thick mud. You can see Dave in the yellow shirt just starting it.

After the barbed wire and jumping over hot flames there was this mud pit you had to go through.

They were exhausted but had a lot of fun. Brady still has a tan line on his arm from where he wrote his number!

The 5k Foam Fest Brady is over is going to be shorter (just over 3 miles) and fun with mud AND Foam! Check is out!

Visit to California and Uncle Tyson comes home!

Brady wanted to make sure Marshall had someone to hang out with for the long trip to CA!

Brady's brother Tyson got home from his mission on June 30th. Marshall was still in my stomach when he left for Baltimore so this is the first time Marshall is meeting his Uncle Tyson!

As you can tell it was a little emotional to see the entire family there!! It was good to see him! I think everyone had at least a few tears of joy!

Marshall had so much fun with his cousins. It was a little over whelming at times but fun! He loved playing outside in his Grandma and Grandpas newly redone beautiful backyard!

He loved to copy his cousins too. Which was sometimes a good thing and sometimes a bad thing lol

One day we went to a little inside play place. It was a blast. Marshall had a good time but I shouldn't have gone down the huge and fast slides I did... especially being pregnant!

We had a contest with a couple of the brothers to see who can do the best nail painting.

I don't think we ever declared a winner but we had a lot of fun!

We went to the pool so many times! It was so fun. It was good to see Ashley and Braden too!

These movies are just FUNNY! So the boys had a brilliant idea to catch bumble bees, freeze them and let them go tied to a string. The problem was, the bee got off the string.. inside. Make sure you turn up your volume for this one. The 2nd video is Brady scaring Leann as they are still searching for the bee 20 minutes later.

Taylorsville Days Fireworks!

Marshall and I joined the Hommes Family and Grandma and Grandpa at the Taylorsville Day's Fireworks. It was really fun! Marshall had a good time eating everyone's Snowies.

I was suprised he didn't run off because we had to wait til 10:00 for the fireworks to start. He was a little scared of the fireworks at first but started to say "wow" after awhile. They were the best fireworks I'd ever seen. It helps that there is music to them. It was worth staying up that late with Marshall!

Father's Day!

I had a good time preparing for Father's Day. I think Brady enjoyed it! When he woke up he got a present from Marshall (a rubberband flying plane) and from me (a hat rack I made him).

These were his "after church" gifts. It was kind of a BBQ themed Father's Day. Last Fathers Day he actually got a small BBQ so this year he got a few more things to go along with it...

including a BBQ grill cake loaded with burgers and shish kabobs. If you are wondering what everything is: The meat patties are devils food cake cookies with starburst cheese and frosting ketchup. The shish kabobs are starbursts for the red peppers and pineapples (that are yellow, they are just really light). The tootsie rolls are the meat. It is a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting that I dyed black. Not exactly what I expected it to be but it works lol

Brady's big gift were knives. He has been complaining since we've been married about how bad our knives are so I figured it was about time to get new ones lol.

He also got a custom apron for BBQing! Doesn't he look great!
